New England Patriots - 2006 Preseason Analysis As head coach Bill Belichick leads the New England Patriots into the 6th season he has been with them, the entire franchise is excited about the possibilities for this season. The team looks good this season, like they have for the past few years. With quarterback Tom Brady leading the offense, he will give the Patriots a fighters chance of making the Playoffs this year, like he always does. With Tom Brady winning three Super Bowls with this club, he is their strongest asset without doubt. Veteran wide receivers Deion Branch and Troy Brown will have a solid year this year, without question. Although Brady doesn’t need too much help, he will love having these talented guys down the field catching his passes. The New England Patriots’ defense will be average this year with veteran leadership like safety Rodney Harrison and linebacker Tedy Bruschi. The Patriots’ will still likely regret losing OLB Willie McGinest, who was the heart and soul of the defense. The loss of kicker Adam Vinatieri will be another negative impact on this team. Vinatieri was the hero for all three Super Bowl victories with his clutch kicking. The team has the potential to do very well this year. It just depends on whether they can pull their defense together to somewhat match their offense.
