Houston Texans - 2006 Preseason Analysis
With new Head Coach Gary Kubiak, who is in his first year as head coach of the Texans, the Houston Texans could look decent this year. Experts look for Kubiak to do well for the Texans, even though this is his first head coaching job. He seems to have the confidence and drive he will need and has an extensive Offensive Coordinator resume.

David Carr, the Houston Texans’ starting quarterback is believed to perform a lot better this season. Finally, he seems to understand that this year he has to get something done. The pressure is on! With the new coaching staff, he will likely excel. Running back Domanick Davis should have an even better year as well. The offense will try to run more, and do play-action pass plays, which will work for this type of runner. On the 3rd and short plays, look for veteran running back Antowain Smith to shine.

They had a nice draft, choosing defensive end Mario Williams from N.C. State and DeMeco Ryans, a linebacker from Alabama. Both of these young guys will be expected to start and perform very well on this defense.

As long as everything goes as planned, most people expect them to improve overall as a team and not get the 1st pick in the NFL draft next year. Of course, for the Houston Texans, there is really no where else to go but up! So, look for them to start winning and taking the game more seriously under this new group of coaches.
