Buffalo Bills - 2006 Preseason Analysis
With first year head coach Dick Jauron and new assistant coaches across the board, the new additions could spell trouble this year for the Buffalo Bills. The first sign of trouble is likely going to revolve around who they are going to play at the quarterback position. Will it be second year guy JP Losman, free agency signee Craig Nall (Brett Favre’s longtime backup), or Kelly Holcomb, the ex Browns quarterback? The team has given no indication of who they will use and how they will utilize the other two players in the running. The coaches are likely still checking the candidates out to see who fits best.

The Defense will be better this year for the Buffalo Bills, with the return of line backer Takeo Spikes, who missed last season due to injury. Veteran safety Troy Vincent and veteran line backer London Fletcher should click well. This will help the defense come together with maturity and veteran wisdom that all teams need throughout the field.

Wide receiver Lee Evans and Peerless Price will have to be patient and work hard to get these quarterbacks reaching good numbers. The big deal with be how well the receivers will mesh with the quarterbacks during pre-season sessions. With three different quarterbacks in the running for the starting position, it could be difficult to tell how the receivers will react to the stress of adjusting to each one until the starter is chosen.

Only time will tell, but this year doesn’t look like a winning one for the Buffalo Bills.
