NBA Playoffs: End of the season games
The end of the NBA (national basketball association) season is usually a very profitable season if one isolates and realizes the prime spots. It is perhaps one of the easiest sports pickings, in that the most obvious plays usually win. Such teams are usually favorites and even though their lines are shaded, teams nonetheless cover these overly inflated lines. Teams ensure wins by erasing doubt in a game (mainly winning convincingly), hence such teams cover their games.
Another angle that can be used is to see exactly how a playoff team will want to finish the season. Some teams rest players, while others jockey for playoff positioning. Most teams vie for the highest seed (meaning an easier road to the Finals), while most are just happy to be there. The handicapper must read news articles as to learn how certain teams will react to the end of the season.
The last angle to consider are resting teams, whether they are playoff bound or beach bound. Teams with older players and veterans usually tank the last few games of the season (meaning they intentionally lose and not cover their games). An interesting scenario occurs when a playoff bound team faces the team they will be destined to meet in the first round. Such scenarios usually have the higher seeded team resting, while the lower seeded team is vying for a playoff spot. In this scenario, the lower seeded team will usually beat the spread (and most often win the game).
In closing, end of the season betting is perhaps one of the most profitable times to make money in the NBA.
