Week 9 Picks (1-2 Record)

Sunday November 5, 2006 Picks

Washington Redskins +3 over Dallas Cowboys (1.5 Units) - The Redskins are undoubtedly playing quite terrible this season considering they were playoff bound last season. But things for them did not have to be so bad. A 3 point loss at home to begin the season and a 3 point loss to the Titans at home if turned around could have had them sitting at 4-3 today. They know this. The bye week they are coming off will not only give them time to think about missed opportunities at home but it will allow them to prepare for their hated division rival in the Cowboys. At home, off a bye, and their eagerness to start winning at home make this a very potent home dog.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1 over New Orleans Saints (1.5 Units) - I guess most people are believing in all the hype that the Saints are so great. We disagree. All of their games have been close and they have been on the side of some lucky bounces to become 5-2. We feel their loss to the Ravens at home off of a bye has exposed them and the Buccaneers will take advantage of that. You always want to bet on home dogs that are good defensively. So bet on these Bucs.

[UNDER 36.5] Pittsburgh Steelers/Denver Broncos (1.5 Units) - We initially thought to bet on the Steelers. The world is against them right now as we see 70% of the betting action on the Broncos. But the Broncos are coming off a loss and have AFC Playoffs revenge from last season. They should be in for a dog fight. Both teams are going to go to what works for them. That is running the ball and defense. With that said, 36.5 is too damn high. Should be 31 if anything. So take the under here in a dog fight to the end.
