Week 4 Picks - (5-2 Record)

Tennessee Titans +9.5 over Dallas Cowboys (1.5 Units) - The news about Terrell Owens is going to hurt this team. By now, players are already thinking what hassle his presence causes. All the media. All the hype. All the allegations. Titans are not good, why else would they be nearly double digits dogs at home. The Cowboys are coming off a bye which gives them some points in the spread but is a bye really all that important in week 3 of the season? The Titans are not worn out like they would be in Week 10, where a team off a bye could easily shatter them. Nope. The Titans are already 0-3 this season and after this game have 2 upcoming road games against Indianapolis and Washington. You can hang losses on those games baby. So it is imperative for them to come out strong today or else head into their bye at 0-6. They will beat this spread but we don't know about the game.

Dallas Cowboys - Tennessee Titans OVER 37 (1.0 Units) - This game is an interconference game and interconference games tend to go over because of the lack of intensity and importance given to the games. Defense suffers. Then you see that the Titans are dead worst in the league in defense so the Cowboys are going to get points. As you saw, we are picking the Titans to still keep it close. The rushing offenses for both teams are mediocre to bad so we expect a lot of passing in this game. And passing helps for overs. We predict a Cowboys 24-17 win, it could very well be 23-20. But if we are wrong about the Titans in our pick listed above, then it would be Cowboys 28-13 or so.

San Diego Chargers -2 over Baltimore Ravens (1.5 Units) - San Diego.... Super chargers.... San Diego. 67-7 is the combined score of their previous two games. But they played nobody. Oakland, Tennessee are cake walks. These Ravens are 3-0 and boast one of the leagues stingiest defenses. But the Chargers are the clear-cut choice because they have something to prove. People are not giving them credit as being one of the league's elite teams. I am not really sure that they are but coming off the bye, they feel that if they can beat Baltimore on the road, they will get some respect. We listened to videotapes and news about the players heading into this game. They are pissed and looking to win big. Still, this is an exciting bout. One of the league's best rushing offenses versus one of the league's best rushing defenses.

New England Patriots -5.5 over Cincinnati Bengals (1.5 Units) - The Bengals beat the Steelers and are now all of a sudden world beaters? The Patriots finally lose a game at home and are now all of a sudden over the hill? Come on folks, these are still the Patriots and they should not be 5.5 point favorites to anyone on the road. At least not until another team proves itself to be of greatness or the Patriots falter. If anything, the Bengals will have a let down today. They gave it their all against the Steelers and we are not certain that they will have come into today's game prepared enough. At least not enough to win by 6 points.

Kansas City Chiefs -7 over San Francisco 49ers (1.5 Units) - The 49ers have a horrible defense. The Chiefs have a great defense and a great running game. They are at home off of a bye staring 0-3 in the face. They will not want to lose this game against a pushover horrible defense type of team. Sure the niners have a good offense but will they put up points like the Chiefs do today? Nope.

Kansas City Chiefs - San Francisco 49ers OVER 40 - The over under here is a mistake. It should be closer to 46. And that will be because the Chiefs will run all over the 49ers. If this happens to go under, it would likely only be because the Chiefs had the game solid in their hands and just ran the ball to waste clock. But in that case, we would win our previous mentioned wager.

Washington Red Skins +2.5 over Jacksonville Jaguars (1.0 Units) - The Red Skins are 1-2. Their sole win was against pushover Houston. At least they won convincingy. So what do we expect out of them today? At home, they are going to be rushing the ball like crazy. The Jaguars have had the league's third best rush defense so far this season. They played against the likes of a Pittsburgh that were not themselves that day. They played Indianapolis and we all know they cannot rush the ball that well this season without Edgerrin James. There is no familiarity between these teams so the Red Skins at home and getting points looks good.
