Week 3 Picks (2-1 Result)

Pittsburgh Steelers -1 over Cincinnati Bengals (1.0 Units) - Plenty of reasons to like this game. The Steelers are not only off a televised monday night loss. They were humiliated by being shut-out. Then consider that game was on the road and was Big Ben's first game back. The Steelers running game was absent that day and will look to throttle Cincinnati today. You also must realize that the Steelers are the big brother and the Bengals will have history to contend with. The Steelers can put all their effort into this game because they have a bye next week and will step up their intensity and be prepared because they are a) at home b) looking to bounceback from a 9-0 loss and c) maintain dominance in the AFC North.

Minnesota Vikings +3.5 over Chicago Bears (1.0 Units) - The Bears look dominant this season but look at who they have been playing. Detroit and Green Bay are not worthy opponents. Playing on the road against Minnesota will not be easy for them. Consider that these Vikings are division rivals, getting 3.5 points and are undefeated themselves. You should know that this spread is 100% based on public perception that these Bears are world beaters. But they have not come across a worthy road foe yet this season. The Vikings will keep it within a field goal for sure.

Seattle Seahawks -3.5 over New York Giants (1.0 Units) - The Seahawks are great at home. They were undefeated last season at home and there is little reason to believe they should lose today. But will they win by more than a FG is the question. We believe they will. The Giants have a bye next week so they are sure to put up their best effort today. Without it, the Seahawks would probably be 6 point favorites. So that is already factored into the spread. Instead of seeing the Giants as a good offensive team, we seek them as a horrible defensive team. Dead last in the NFL this season so far. They are giving up 389 YPG. Meanwhile, the Seahawks are one of the best and you must realize that they are at home.
