Top 100 NFL Fantasy Players According to Our Statistics ($9.95)University of Central Florida Golden Knights vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs12/29/07 The high-flying Central Florida Golden Knights hook up with the surprising Mississippi State Bulldogs this Saturday, December 29, 2007, when both teams hope to win the Autozone Liberty Bowl to be held in Memphis, Tennessee. Oddsmakers have made the UCF Golden Knights 3 point favorites, with the line holding steady at the time of writing. The Golden Knights have enjoyed a solid season this year, going 10-3 straight up and 8-5 against the spread. They are 4-2 on the road, going 3-3 against the spread, and have been road warriors all season. They are currently on a 7 game winning streak, covering 5 out of the set. Most recently, they defeated the Tulsa Golden Hurricane by the convincing score of 44-25 and easily covering the 7.5-point home favorite role. The author believes that the Golden Knights’ offense will be simply too much for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and as such, this game will yet be another blowout for the UCF Golden Knights. Head coach Sylvester Croom has certainly made great strides in changing his team’s image and overall playing ability, as evidenced by his Bulldogs’ appearance in this year’s Liberty Bowl game. They are 7-5 on the season, but only going 5-6 against the spread. On the road they are merely 3-3 straight up, but a decent 4-2 against the spread. The author does not see the Bulldogs being competitive in this game. They simply do not have enough offense to put together a serious run and even though their defense is slightly better than the Golden Knights, the author does not see the Bulldogs being close. With such a ‘low’ line, the author is suspect to taking the Golden Knights, but statistics do not lie. Take the better team and bet with confidence knowing that the Golden Knights are on a different class level than the Bulldogs. Game prediction: 52-33 UCF. |
