Top 100 NFL Fantasy Players According to Our Statistics ($9.95)Hawai’i Warriors Vs Georgia Bulldogs1/1/08 The high-flying Hawai’i Warriors take on the defensive-minded Georgia Bulldogs this New Year’s in the nightcap of college football games. They will be playing in the Sugar Bowl at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Oddsmakers opened the Bulldogs as a stiff 11-point favorite, with sharp and public money driving the line all the way down to its current state of Georgia –8. The Hawai’i Warriors are the only team in Div I. College football, bowl subdivision, to be undefeated. Although many argue about their softness of schedule, the Warriors are still an offensive force to reckon with. They are 12-0 on the season, but a paltry 4-6 against the number. Away from Honolulu, they are 5-0 straight up, but 2-3 against the number. Most recently, they beat the Washington Huskies in dramatic fashion, eventually out willing them in the second half (they won 35-28, but failed to cover the 14-point home favorite spread). The author feels that stud quarterback Colt Brennan will be the difference in the Warriors success over the Georgia Bulldogs. As a WAC team, this squad will get little respect from bettors, hence giving them great line value for sharp, value investors. The Georgia Bulldogs, along with the USC Trojans, may be playing the best football in the league right now, with 6 games in a row and going 4-2 against the spread. The way in which the Bulldogs are winning their games is perhaps the reason why some people are calling this team the hottest team in the league right now. Most recently they beat their in-state rival the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets by the score of 31-17 (also covering the 4-point road favorite spread). The author sees a great Sugar Bowl game in which both teams will answer each other’s touchdowns. But, in the end, defense wins out, but does not cover the posted line. Game prediction: 38-34 Georgia. |
