Oddsmakers have made the line Georgia Tech –6, and at the time of writing, has held steady. The Fresno State Bulldogs, coached by Pat Hill, has returned to college football prominence as his team has once again reached the bowl season. At 8-4 straight up and 6-5 against the number, the Bulldogs have been respectable. On the road they are 3-3 straight up and 4-2 against the number. The Bulldogs are scoring on average 32.2 points per game and allowing 26.9 points per contest. The author likes the Bulldogs in this spot, given the equal statistics for both teams. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets come into this game off a disappointing 31-17 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs (they also lost the 4 point home underdog spread given them). They are 7-5 straight up on the season and 4-6-1 against the spread. Away from home they are 3-2 in both the straight up and against the spread ledger. Georgia Tech is scoring on average 26.1 points, while allowing 19.2 points to the opposition. The author does not really see any significant advantage to taking the Jackets. The author sees a close game where the underdog Bulldogs get an honest chance in winning this game straight up. Take the points in this one and perhaps place a little bit on the moneyline. Game prediction: 38-30 Fresno State. |
