Top 100 NFL Fantasy Players According to Our Statistics ($9.95)Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Colorado Buffaloes12/30/07 The Alabama Crimson Tide face off against the Colorado Buffaloes this Sunday in this year’s edition of the Independence Bowl, to be held in Shreveport, Louisiana. Oddsmakers have made the Tide an opening 3.5-point favorite, with the line holding steady at the time of writing. The Crimson Tide come into this matchup off 4 straight loses against the spread and straight up, most recently losing to the Auburn Tigers by the score of 17-10 (and losing as a 6 point road underdog role). On the season, Alabama is 6-6 straight up and 2-9 against the spread on the season. Away from home, the Tide are 2-2 straight up and 1-3 against the spread. The author is surprised that the Tide actually made the bowls this year, and hence, the Tide have been certainly lucky to go to this bowl game. The Buffaloes of Colorado also have been mediocre this year. They are also barely bowl eligible this year, going 6-6 on the season both straight up and against the spread. Away from home, they are 2-3 straight up and against the spread. They are coming off a great game in which they blew out the Nebraska Cornhuskers by the score of 65-51 (winning and covering as 3 point home favorites). The Buffs are 5-5 both straight up and against the spread in their last 10 games. The author does not really see any great advantages in either side, therefore taking the underdog in this spot would profitable. If two teams seem to be pretty equal, it has been the experience of the author that underdogs do quite well. The game should be also low scoring as the high total of 51.5 is much to high for two teams that are equally struggling. The Buffaloes shock the Tide in a low scoring affair. Game prediction: 24-21 Colorado. |
