Andy Reid is the current head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. Over the past few years, Reid has established himself as one of the best coaches in the league. He is well respected by both his peers and his players, and comes from a football rich background.

Reid played college football for Brigham Young University up until 1981. After graduating, he served as a graduate assistant for the team for one season. He then spent the next nine seasons working as an offense line coach with four different universities. It was after this that he moved onto his career in the National Football League. He was hired by the Green Bay Packers in 1992 as an assistant coach. During his time with the Packers, many teams took notice of his passion and work ethic.

All of this work paid off in 1999 when the Philadelphia Eagles came calling his name. Reid was hired as the head coach of the Eagles on January 11, 1999. But his hiring came under great scrutiny. During this time there were a number of more experience head coaches on the market. The local media felt that the Eagles needed an experienced veteran in order to get the team back on track. But in Reid’s first season the team finished 5-11, two games better than they did the previous season.

And then in 2000, Reid proved a lot of people wrong by leading the Eagles to an 11-5 record and a spot in the playoffs. From 2001 until 2004, the Eagles won four consecutive NFC Eastern Division titles. This was the longest streak in franchise history. During this time, the Eagles also reached the NFC championship game every season. The 2004 team made it to the Super Bowl, but narrowly lost to the New England Patriots by a score of 24-21.
