After starting the season 0-8, the St. Louis Rams now enjoy a 2 game winning streak and hope to continue their winning ways against their divisional rival, the Seattle Seahawks.

St. Louis was in a total disarray in the beginning of the season, losing their first 8 games. But behind Marc Bulger and his talented receiving corps, the Rams have managed to salvage part of their season. The Rams recently beat the San Francisco 49ers 13-9 as a 3 point road favorite last Sunday. Statistically, the Rams are 3-7 against the spread thus far in the season. This week, though, the Rams will have their hands full as the Seattle Seahawks roll into town as a favorite in this matchup.

The Seattle Seahawks have been a mediocre team this year, to say the least. They are currently 6-4 straight up and 5-5 against the spread this year. Historically, the Seahawks travel very poorly and are bad bets when they are favored. This stems from the fact that Seattle’s coach, Mike Holmgren becomes conservative when they have the load away from QWEST field. The Seahawks also do poorly when they start their games at 10:00 PST.

The series games between these two teams have no significant trends, where the Seahawks are winners of 6 of the last 10 games, but only covering 4 of the last 10 games—one note though: the Seahawks have been winners of the last 5 games played between the two teams, but only covering 3 of the last 5.

Interestingly enough, the line for this game is not moving from the initial, opening line of Seahawks –3, even with the majority of the action is on the road favorite. When this occurs, smart money is usually keeping the line down (sharp bettors are possibly betting on the home underdog to keep the line down).
