Top 100 NFL Fantasy Players According to Our Statistics ($9.95)New York Giants Vs Green Bay Packers1/20/08 by Kris Lazaro The New York Giants will be looking to complete their season against perhaps one of the most magical teams in recent NFL history, the Green Bay Packers. Behind the golden and ageless arm of stud quarterback Brett Favre, the Packers hope to finish their season on a high note and advance to the Superbowl to face either the Sand Diego Chargers or the New England Patriots. Oddsmakers have made the Packers an opening 7-point favorite, with the line slight moving and settling at its current line of 7.5 points. The Giants, under head coach Tom McCoughlin, have been overachieving this year. They are 12-6 overall and against the number, while going 8-1 straight up and against the spread in road games. Their recent successes have fallen on the arm of Eli Manning, the younger brother of superstar Payton Manning. The younger Manning has lead his team with great leadership skills and motivated his team to strive for the best. They are now looking to acquire their first Superbowl berth since the early 90’s. Brett Favre will also be looking to chase history, as the Packers hope to earn a bid to the Superbowl by winning this Sunday evening. The Packers are an amazing 14-3 straight up and 13-3-1 against the number. At home, they have been very dominant, going 8-1 straight up and 7-1-1 against the spread. Behind the arm of Favre, the Packers are surprisingly winning and covering without a solid running game. The author is not sure how long they can keep this up, but as the past has shown, this offense has been working and looks to continue this Sunday. The game should be fun to watch, as the Packers offense will be running on all cylinders, while the Giants offense will be looking to answer back. In the end, the Packer offense will be too much for the Giants defense to handle. Favre scores the last touchdown by passing to one of his receivers. Game prediction: 38-28 Green Bay. |
