New York Jets vs. Dallas Cowboys

In perhaps one of the day’s greatest mismatches, the Dallas Cowboys host the struggling New York Jets in a traditional Thanksgiving Day game for the ‘Boys. Dallas, who is arguably one of the best teams in the league look to improve their 9-1 record against the 2-8 Jets.

Oddsmakers have slapped a hefty 14 point tariff on the Cowboys, for those brave enough to bet on the hot Cowboys. This line is justified for many reasons. The Cowboys boast a healthy passing game with Tony Romo’s golden arm; while the Jets struggle to merely put points on the board. Last Sunday’s win against the Steelers, have improved the Jet’s record, but truth be told, this Jet’s team is no better than the author’s high school football team.

The Jets have one of the league’s worst offenses, averaging a mere 17.8 points per game. J-E-T-S have gone winless on the road thus far in the season, and if recent statistics are any indication, the Jets will put another L in the loss column after this Thursday’s match up. Back up quarterback Kellen Clemens will have a tough time calling out audibles in Texas stadium this Thursday, as the fans in Dallas will have an earful for this young quarterback.

Dallas enters this game knowing they control their destiny if they win out their games until the playoffs. Dallas’ added incentive of resting players at the end of the season would come into play in this game. The only weakness that the author sees in this Cowboys team is their defense. They have allowed an amazing 311 yards per game average to the opposition, although their 7-3 ATS mark and 9-1 record mask this fact.

The author sees a blowout from the outset of this game, with a possible backside cover by the Jets. Dallas might soon be renamed to Romoville, if Tony continues to play at such a high level.

Game prediction: 45-35 Dallas.
