Miami Dolphins vs. Pittsburgh Steelersby Kris Lazaro 11/25/07 The winless Miami Dolphins go into Heinz Field on Monday night to battle the Pittsburgh Steelers for a chance to get their first win of the season. Things are always easier to say than done. The Dolphins may in fact go winless this season, as this team simply has no direction and no heart. Although there is an angle that states to go for teams who are winless after week 8 of the season, the author does not believe the Dolphins can win a game this season, let alone cover another spread. The Dolphins play well in the first half of their games, but later falter and crumble once their opposition settles in. This squad will be facing a tough Pittsburgh defense that is allowing only 14.5 points per game and 236.2 yards per game. The anemic Miami offense, which is only averaging 18.3 points per game, will have a tough time scoring on this Pittsburgh defense. On the other side of the ball, the Steelers will be extra-motivated for this game as it was embarrassed last Sunday by the lowly New York Jets by the score of 19-16. The Steelers are a proud bunch and will do anything and everything in their will to win this game and send a message to the rest of the league that they are contenders, not pretenders. In all, defense will win this game and the winless Dolphins will be 0-11 after the Monday nighter. The author sees an ugly scenario developing for this game. Turnovers committed by the Dolphins and forced by the Steelers will put Pittsburgh in very good field position. The Steelers will convert these turnovers into points and control the tempo of the game. The Dolphins inability to score will be their downfall as Pittsburgh will continue to pound the ball down the middle and drop short passes to its receivers, almost at will. This will be an ugly game to watch. Game prediction: 49-7 Pittsburgh. |
