Oddsmakers opened the home team Packers as an 8 point favorite, with betting action pushing the line slightly down to its current state of Green Bay –7.5. The Seahawks are coming off a wacky first round game against the Washington Redskins last Saturday, a game in which 36 points were scored in the fourth quarter. After the Seahawks led 13-0 after 3 quarters, the Redskins answered with 2 quick touchdowns of their own. The Seahawks showed grit and determination and eventually responded with a 22-point fourth quarter, finally putting the hammer down and putting to rest the Washington Redskins (the Seahawks won 35-14 and covered the 3 point home favorite spread). The Seahawks come into this game with some momentum and carry with them a solid offense. They are 11-6 on the season and 10-7 against the number. On the road, they are 3-5 straight up and against the number. Brett Favre is never too old to play football. In a recent article published just this week, he was pondering to return once again after this magical season. The Packers won the NFC North this year, as they went 13-3 straight up and 12-3-1 against the number. At home they are an amazing 7-1 and 6-1-1 against the number. People sometimes miss the fact that the home teams in round 2 of the playoffs are the better team. Although the Pack does not have a solid running game, the author feels Favre will do just enough to win this Saturday’s game. The author predicts a good game, where the Packers pull away in the second half to put the Seahawks away for good.
