NFL Divisional Playoffs |
Top 100 NFL Fantasy Players According to Our Statistics ($9.95)San Diego Chargers Vs Indianapolis Colts1/13/08 by Kris Lazaro The San Diego Chargers challenge the almighty Indianapolis Colts this Sunday in the third game of the second round of the NFL playoffs this year. The Colts opened as a 9-point home favorite against the Chargers, and the author feels this number is just about right. Payton Manning and company will have revenge in mind as his team will try to oust the red hot Chargers this Sunday. The Sand Diego Chargers are coming off a great game against the Tennessee Titans last Sunday. Although the Titans controlled the majority of the game, the Chargers did not panic and kept to their game plan. Handing the ball to superstar running back LaDainian Tomlinson and passing the rock around helped to stifle the stingy Titan defense and eventually topple them by the score of 17-6 (the Chargers also covered the 10.5-point home favorite spread). On the season, they are 12-5 straight up and against the spread. On the road these Super Chargers are 4-4 straight up and against the spread. The defending Superbowl Champions are not getting enough respect. Overshadowed by the New England Patriots this season, the Colts are quietly going about their business and going a modest 13-3 straight up and 9-7 against the number. At home they are 6-2 straight up and 5-3 against the number. Their last regular season game did not mean anything, therefore they ‘threw out’ that game and ‘let’ the Titans into the playoffs by losing to them by the score of 16-10 and not covering the 4-point home underdog. But, it is now the playoffs and the Colts mean business. The Colts’ defense is still solid and the author believes that the Colts will face the Patriots in the AFC championship next week. The Colts will defend their homefield and exact revenge for their earlier loss in the season to these same Chargers. Payton goes crazy in the air and accumulates over 300 yards in passing yards. The Colts rout the ‘Cinderella’ Chargers. Game prediction: 35-10 Indianapolis. |
