NFL Divisional Playoffs |
Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Predictionsby Kris Lazaro 11/23/07 The Jacksonville Jaguars host the Buffalo Bills this Sunday as an 8 point home favorite in Jacksonville. The Bills, coming off an embarrassing loss to New England 56-10 hope to rebound back and restart their upstart season with a victory against the Jaguars. Quarterback David Garrard will be back behind center for his second game after being placed on the injured reserved list a few weeks back. Garrard missed 4 games for an ankle injury, but currently looks at top form. He guided his team to a 24-17 home victory against the San Diego Chargers as a 3 point favorite. The Jaguar defense has been its most stingiest, allowing on average 18.1 points per game. Facing a struggling offense in Buffalo should not be much of a challenge for the tenacious Jaguar defense. After starting the season 0-3, the Buffalo Bills rallied the troops and are currently 5-2 in their last 7 games. Their previous opponent, the amazing New England Patriots, broke the Bills’ 4 game winning streak and perhaps demoralized a somewhat young team. The author believes that this team will now fall back to Earth after enjoying a good run. They will be facing a very good defense in Jacksonville, very much similar to New England’s defense. As stated earlier, this is a somewhat young team. Egos will come into play when this team starts to string together a few more losses. The author foresees a blowout, where the Jaguars will name the score. The Bills have only managed a total of 36 points on the road during their 4 games away from Buffalo (scoring 13, 13, 7, and 3 points in those contests). The Jaguars will take the lead in the first quarter and never look back. The Bills’ anemic offense will be the difference in this game and will prevent them from covering the 8 point spread against the Jaguars. Game prediction: 34-7 Jaguars.
